AC Slater - Rock It Out EP
Thursday, August 20
It's been a while since we've had any Slater material up on the site, so I thought it about time for that to change. Although this EP is now roughly 5 months old, which is fairly old in the world of electronic music, it's still hits the spot big time. Featuring exclusively his productions, hence no Slater remixes, and a few rerubs by other artists, this EP shows why, in my opinion, the quality and effectiveness of the man's music has yet to be surpassed in the fidget/bassline scene.
First up is the title track, which, by no means the best track on the EP, is still guaranteed to get the crowd bouncing and is an indisputable party tune, filled with jumpy wobbles and standard Slater acapella edits. We then have Night Shift, possibly the EP's heaviest track, and actually fairly progressive too for a fidget tune. This tune's got a relentless but rolling and catchy bassline that demands attention. Then there's No Party for Old Men, a bona fide dancefloor stormer with a cheeky dubstep break in the middle. We then have Slater's dubstep effort Hello, which shows that his ability to churn out quality step hasn't diminished in the slightest since his anthem Everyday Hustle.
The EP is rounded up by a couple of remixes of Rock It Out, firstly the Rob Threezy rework and then the one by Scott Cooper. Each one definitely worth a listen. AC Slater's trademark hard-hitting, industrial take on fidget in prevalent throughout this fine EP. We hope you like it to!...
