THEM! First Birthday @ Corsica Studios

DateFriday, July 3

This is going to be a bit of fruit I think. Not only is at the mighty, or quite small but epic, Corsica Studios, but it features some incredible artists. Namely that of Boxcutter, L-Vis, Remarc and LTT bredas Klose One and Rattus Rattus.

Get yo ass' down!

THEM room: http://www.myspace.com/themevents

BOXCUTTER - 's new album ‘Arecibo message’ is amazing. His lush, deep dubstep soundscapes are layered with jazz, electro, house and various other influences over rough neo-junglist beats, adding new colour to his sound. Its our favourite album of recent, and after two successive attempts at booking him he has finally agreed to appear at our birthday special!

JAMIE VEXD – One of our favourite ever producers, Jamie returns after blowing the Rhythm Factory away with a heavy futuristic dubstep set in Feb (the only one in recent years that's left us with bruises!). Since then he’s released the awesome ‘In System Travel’ EP nodding towards a new ‘wonky’ leaning. Put best by someone on the THEM 3 event page “Jamie is a badman”.

BREAKAGE – Unhappy with turning DnB completley on its head by stripping it down to a raw, hard and muscular (beyond compare) sound remeniscant of the golden days of Jungle, Breakage is doing the same with dubstep. He isnt interested in wobbles or gimmicks, he deals in pure Bassweight. With both styles mastered and Corsica’s Funktion One rig at his fingertips this man is dangerous.

MUMDANCE – What better way of celebrating our 1st year by paying homage to one of the best received sets of our first year. We decided to give you another chance to find out why Mumdance’s dancefloor orientated sets create such pandemonium, as he recontextualises brand new B’more, Dubstep, Grime, garage, Bassline, House, Jungle, Electro and Dancehall dubplates in quick succession.

BORGORE – “Find a quiet place and sit comfortably...” Borgore is about to change the meaning of the phrase 'heavy dubstep'. The Isreali producer uses Heavy Metal influences with funny as hell humor, although there’s nothing funny about the end result, which is sicker than Sheep porn. We had to get him down for his first ever UK gig. We hope you’re ready, although frankly we're concerned for your well being. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5WxZNIpszs

KLOSE ONE + RATTUS RATTUS (4 decks) - The Urban Nerds dream team pair up for a high octane 4 decks, 4 hands genre smashing tearout. Expect Garage, Bassline, Hip Hop, Grime, Dubstep, Fidget, House, Breaks, Jungle, DnB and whatever else these two talented DJs decide to throw in the mix. This will be epic!

CNTRST + SDUK - Long Time DJ partners CNTRST and SDUK touch down to play THEM for the very first time, and showcase the newest underground sounds going, with soulful vibes and a bag full of exciting and innovative dubstep, wonky, hop hop, grime, bashment and funky dubplates.

Hyp!Hyp!Hyp! Room: http://www.hyponik.com

REMARC – The Undisputed king of Amen Jungle, Remarc touches down at Corsica to show you kids how its done! A man synonymous with the sound of Jungle, Marc will be showcasing productions both old and new, undoubtedly pulling for fresh dubs from his new label Definition. Look out for brand new we-rworkings and VIP’s of timeliess jungle anthems!

SILVERLINK - The post-rave/garage of No Hats No Hoods compatriot SILVERLINK will see him touch on everything from 2 step acid to the riddim riding mentalism of his recent underground smash The Message Is Love (feat. Jammer). Bangface favourite and all round rave innovator, witness what happens when garage, soca, dancehall and grime are re-worked into oldschool hardcore bangers!

L-VIS 1990 Tres Cool/Mad Decent affiliate and all round London badman L-VIS 1990 brings his dutty Hyper Bass and airs his current work in progress ahead of his forthcoming EP. Experience full ghetto bass style house done in a London stylee by one of the scenes best!

SLUGABED represents that bouncing curveball sound (just don’t call it wonky). A exciting new producer on the scene, with fresh beats and quality production.

REECHA - Tying things up will be the classic garage/dirty dubstep sounds of Dirty Canvas resident REECHA, a fast and furtious selector which showcases perfectly the genre mashing street bass sound that THEM and Hyp!Hyp!Hyp!both love to represent.
