Immer 3

DateWednesday, August 18

“A DJ has a certain responsibility. He has to play progressive, contemporary music and combine it with the past. It is all about entertaining people, but you must not under challenge nor overstrain them. You must be subversive and play music that no one would have ever dreamt of listening to voluntarily at the club. You are both, entertainer and educator."

Boogaloo Crew Mix

DateSunday, August 15

London duo Boogaloo Crew have just dropped their Mixtape 004 for The Daily Street. Having smashed their way through the Dubstep and UK Funky scenes with killer remix after killer remix over the last year and a rather original sound, they have firmly established themselves as a force to be recognised.

Bringing a sound that fuses Dubstep with old UK Garage and new UK Funky/Underground House, it’s a refreshing sound that is smashing clubs at the moment. These guys also know how to rock a crowd on the 1’s & 2’s … I’ve seen it with my own eyes and it’s non-stop dancing. This mixtape is proof of their mixing talent and I would go as far as to say that the first mix is one of the best, most thought out mixes I’ve ever heard on a mixtape (It does help that the second tune is one of my favourites at the moment). The rest of the mix doesn’t disappoint either, spanning across a pretty large list of styles and sounds, including artists from Ramadanman to Burial to Massive Attack. As varied as the tracklist may look, it flows from track to track fluently, leaving you at the end questioning how 45 minutes went so fast. Overall a very enjoyable listen and a welcome addition to the series!

Tracklist:
1. Girl Unit – Temple Keys
2. Ramadanman – Work Them
3. S-X – Woooo Riddim (Instramental)
4. Ramadanman – Don’t Change For Me
5. Sebastian Tellier – L’Armour Et La Violence (Floating Points Remix)
6. Jose Gonzalez – Crosses (Boogaloo Crew Bootleg)
7. The Boogaloo Crew – Vitamins
8. Lorcan Mak – 4 The Love (Dark Sky Remix)
9. Pariah – The Slump
10. Burial – Archangel
11. Photomachine – Technicolour
12. Massive Attack – Paradise Circus
13. Blue Daisy – Blood Petal Roses

Foreign Beggars new remix EP

DateSunday, August 15

Following the widespread acclaim for 2009’s ‘United Colours of Beggattron’, that saw the video for the Noisia-produced single ‘Contact’ reach 1,000,000 views on YouTube and witnessed, ‘Prove It’, featuring Guilty Simpson reached No. 2 in the U.S. College Charts, Foreign Beggars have teamed up with a selection of the finest producers on the underground and world circuit for their latest release.

Meshing a variety of styles and sounds, the Beggattron remixes cross the boundaries of dubstep, grime, glitch and much more. Including, remixes of album favourite ‘Seven Figure Swagger’ by the mighty Plastician, featuring bars from some of the UK’s finest MCs (including grime allstars Wretch 32 and Dot Rotten), as well as a stunning original joint ‘Typhoon’ with Bristol dubstep outfit Chasing Shadows.

The 2 Bears

DateSunday, August 15

The 2 Bears are Raf Rundell (a South London club promoter and DJ through the alter-moniker Greco-Roman Soundsystem) and the more well-known dude Joe Goddard (producer, remixer and member of Hot Chip). Together, they've collaborated as the dual forest creatures via Southern Fried Records, and their first release is the Follow the Bears EP, out now

In addition to the EP, which comes with a hearty helping of beefed up and beastly accoutrements, The 2 Bears also host a weekly radio show on Ministry of Sound Radio. Check it out here...and speaking of radio, these furry fools dropped in to Annie Mac's Friday night fun-fest this past week, and delivered one of the tightest mini-mixes we've heard this year on the program.

Yours below the track list. 'Tis proper rad.

Pelski presents: JET PROJECT

DateThursday, August 12

Facebook event

If only we were as 'sound' as Pelski, which we're not, we would be going around saying YOU CAN CALL ME PELSKI.  Although we would like to boast that we post the best and latest floor stoppers, we cant because we are just too damn busy. Pelski on the other hand can. Not only can he do that but he can also host a killer night in one of our favourite venues. Alongside a bloggersphere friendly and garage lover Mackaveli and another LTT favourite, Solid Gold.

After the smash hit success of the first 'Pelski Presents' - Darkly and Pelski are back with a showcase of deep tribal infused house and snappy 2-step. The critically acclaimed Jet Project (from Booka Shade's Get Physical) brings the sub-aquatic sounds of dubbed up tech-house, whilst Fabric resident Mackaveli will be turning us over with his usual mix of twisted 2-step and sharp techno cuts. London's 'Troublevision' kingpins Solid Gold & Park Ranger, will be taking us on an en vogue eclectic session to the early hours. And it's FREE if you head down to the Big Chill before 10pm. Just grab a tube to king's Cross and you're there...
Check out the tunage below in the meantime but make sure you make it down on the night. Going to be a tune fest!
